A basic teardown of diablo's gameplay

Diablo classifies as "hack and slash point and click (sort of) rpg". Let's tear that down, the hack and slash means the gameplay is biased around mainly fighting. The point and click means you will mainly use your mouse for the game. The rpg means you have experience points and have different roles you can play as. There are 4-character attributes, strength, magic, dexterity, and vitality. Strength allows you to use better items and deal more physical damage. Magic allows you to use better items, deal more damage with spells, and have more mana. Dexterity allows you to use better items and be more accurate. You can upgrade these attributes after gaining a level. There are several different kinds of items in diablo: Potions, equipment, currency, quest items, and jewelry. There are 4 different kinds of potions in diablo 1: Stat, mana, life, and rejuvenation potions. Stat potions upgrade an attribute by 1 level when used, the attribute it upgrades is in its name. Mana potions refill your mana meter, same with life potions but with health. Rejuvenation potions refill both health and mana bars. There are 2 kinds of equipment: armor and weapons. Weapons are what you need to attack at all (minus if you're a sorcerer) and have required stats and up-stats. Armor is the same minus attacking and it always adds to your armor class stat. Jewlery is the same but with no armor class and no requirements.
